Boston International Antiquarian Book Fair (1987-2015)
Now in its 39th year, the Boston International Antiquarian Book Fair is one of the oldest and largest rare book events in the country. The event features over 130 book dealers from around the United States and the world who come to the Hynes Convention Center to display and sell rare and collectible books, maps, atlases, autographs and other works on paper. Exhibitors are members of the Antiquarian Booksellers’ Association of America or the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers. CommPromo has been the executive producer of this annual event for 28 years.
Early Childhood Summit 2013: Innovation and Opportunity (April 5, 2013)
Early Childhood Summit 2013 was a one-day conference at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston that targeted medical, business, and education communities, as well as early childhood education policy leaders for a discussion of a range of topics, including digital media and child development; innovative curriculum programs; and the role of community in early education. CommPromo worked with BCM management, program directors, board members, and other stakeholders to oversee the project timeline and speakers, all venue logistics, as well as supporting marketing initiatives and communication activities. Sponsored by the Boston Children’s Museum, the Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University, MA Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and Strategies for Children.
Boston Children’s Museum: Family Fest (April 6, 2013)
Family Fest was part of the kick-off of the centennial celebration of the Boston Children’s Museum. The event featured an enhanced day of education and entertainment at the Museum, including a special segment developed by CommPromo called “What’s Cookin’ on the Wharf.” Chefs Ming Tsai and Joanne Chang led cooking demos designed with simple recipes that parents and children can replicate at home. CommPromo developed the concept, expedited all permitting, coordinated chef appearances, and managed all logistics. Sponsored by WGBH, Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA, and National Grid.
Green STAR 2011
Green STAR 2011 is a newly-minted vendor fair produced by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that brings together contractors, procurement officials, and end-users from Massachusetts departments with the goal of adhering to the Governor’s mandate to use more sustainable products and services. Green STAR features a wide spectrum of environmentally-preferred product vendors—and contractors, purchasing agents, and facilities managers from the private sector are invited to attend. CommPromo provided program consultation, production management, communications and outreach to the private sector for this business-to-business event.
Down:2:Earth (D2E) is a destination for consumers concerned about our impact on the environment and a showcase for companies offering “green” lifestyle choices. D2E provides a platform for companies in the vanguard of sustainability to promote their products and services—and it offers consumers useful information about making homes energy-efficient, sourcing food and other products locally, and making environmentally-sound lifestyle choices. Attendees can attend a “Local Bites” preview party, eco-fashion shows, cooking demonstrations with celebrity chefs, and children’s eco-friendly activities.
Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA) Tour de Soul, 2001
NESEA contracted CommPromo to expand awareness of renewable energy vehicles through a six-city road rally that showcased electric, hybrid, and fuel cell vehicles. We developed new branding and promotional materials—and we created media partnerships in each market to promote the event, increase awareness, and attract a wide audience. The culminating event of the Tour de Sol drew more than 5,000 people to City Hall Plaza in Boston. Mission accomplished!
