The Frog Pond Café Offers New Destination For Al Fresco Dining

New Menu features specialty coffees, seasonal offerings, and there’s free WiFi for patrons

Boston, MA—The Frog Pond Café on Boston Common has undergone a makeover, and is now offering a new menu featuring fresh sandwiches, salads, wraps, and specialty coffees just in time for the outdoor dining season. The newly revived Café is a quick and easy take-out alternative for folks working and living in the area, as well as a tasty option for casual al fresco dining. The Café is self-service and will be offering free WIFI to patrons– the first area of Boston Common to do so.

The new General Manager of the Café is John Schaub, whose real roots go back to artisanal baking. In 1984, just after graduation from Northeastern University, John opened the Wheatstone Baking Company, an artisanal, from-scratch bakery which was consistently awarded Best of Boston. As owner/operator/head baker, he ran the Wheatstone for fourteen years; now after interim experience managing high-volume catering operations, he brings his multiple talents to elevate the quality of the Frog Pond Café.

For breakfast, The Frog Pond Café will offer espresso, cappuccino, lattes, as well as a wonderful Viennese coffee. Fresh baked goods will include croissants, muffins, scones, coffee cake, as well as fruit cups, yogurt parfaits and other healthy alternatives. For lunch, the menu will offer fresh salads (Caesar, Greek, Garden) and sandwiches, along with daily/weekly specials such as organic spinach salad with seasonal berries, goat cheese, toasted walnuts, balsamic dressing; roasted vegetable wrap with eggplant, zucchini, caramelized onions, red peppers, roasted garlic hummus; and other seasonal items that will feature more local and seasonal ingredients as the bounty of summer produce continues.

The Frog Pond Café hours for summer are daily 10am-6pm.
